A woman is in a serious condition in hospital after falling down the side of a cliff on the Isle of Skye.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene in the south of the island, around 1.5 miles north of Elgol, after a 50-year-old woman fell from a coastal path at around 3.30pm on Thursday.
Coastguard rescue teams from Kyle, Dunvegan and Portree attended alongside Mallaig lifeboat, Skye Mountain Rescue Team, Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service.
The woman was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Glasgow, where police confirmed she remains in a “serious condition”.
A police spokeswoman said: “Around 3.35pm on Thursday, July 20, we received a report that a woman had fallen from a cliff in the Elgol area of the Isle of Skye.
“Emergency services, including mountain rescue teams and HM Coastguard, attended.
“The 50-year-old was taken by air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where she remains in a serious condition.”
