Three people have been left in hospital after a serious crash between a car and a van in the Highlands.
Emergency services were called to the A96, between Gollanfield and Nairn, after a collision between a white Ford Transit and a silver Ford Tourneo Connect at around 7.35pm on Tuesday.
A 56-year-old man, the driver of the Tourneo, and a 73-year-old woman, the passenger, were taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.
The van driver, a 37-year-old man, was also taken to hospital.
Officers closed the road while recovery operations took place and later re-opened it just after midnight on Wednesday.
Sergeant Christopher Donaldson said: “Our enquiries to establish the full circumstance are ongoing and we are appealing for information.
“Anyone who saw what happened, particularly if you have dash-cam, is asked to contact us on 101, quoting incident number 3110 of Tuesday, November 14.”
