A woman and her two dogs have died after being struck by a car in the Highlands.
The incident took place on the B9152 road near Granish Junction in Aviemore on Friday when a grey Peugeot 207 hit a pedestrian.
Emergency services were called to the incident at around 9.45pm with police and the ambulance service in attendance.
The 40-year-old pedestrian and both Husky type dogs were pronounced dead at the scene.
The 20-year-old male driver of the car was not injured.
Officers investigating the crash are now appealing for information as they look to establish the full circumstances.
The road was closed for around ten hours before being re-opened at 8am on Saturday.
Sergeant Calum MacAulay, Road Policing North, is appealing for witnesses, he said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the crash or either the car or the lady prior to the incident.
“We believe the lady had been in Aviemore just before and had been walking with her two Husky type dogs at that time.
“If you were driving in the area near where the crash took place and have any dashcam footage of the woman or the car, then please contact police.”
Any information can be passed to officers via 101.
