Woman in hospital and man arrested following serious three-car crash

Police are now appealing for information to establish the full circumstances of the crash.

A man has been arrested in connection with a suspected road traffic offence following a serious three-car crash which left a woman in hospital in the Highlands.

Shortly after 1pm on Thursday July 13, emergency services were called to the A835 near the Tore roundabout after reports of the collision which involved a black Vauxhall Corsa, a black Kia Sportage and a bronze Peugeot 3008.

Emergency services attended and an 18-year-old woman, the driver of the Corsa, was taken to hospital by ambulance.

A 56-year-old man, the driver of the Sportage, was arrested in connection with a suspected road traffic offence and taken to hospital to be checked over. 

No one else was injured as a result of the crash.

The road was closed for a period of time and re-opened around 5.45pm.

Police are now appealing for information to establish the full circumstances of the crash.

Sergeant Calum MacAulay said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this crash and appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash or arrived at the scene soon after to come forward.

“In particular, if you have dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation then please get in touch.”
