Woman rushed to hospital with ‘significant’ injuries after hit-and-run in Dingwall

A woman has been rushed to hospital after a being hit by a van which failed to stop in Dingwall.

The collision occurred on Brown Street around 7.40pm on Sunday when the van struck the 54-year-old woman.

The driver of the van did not stop at the scene and the woman was later taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness with “significant” injuries.

Constable Eve King said: “It is vital we find out exactly what happened here as a woman has sustained significant injuries as a result of this crash. I am appealing to anyone with any information or who might have witnessed the collision to come forward.

“I would also ask those with private CCTV or dash cam footage of the Brown Square area around 7.40pm on Sunday, to please review it and bring anything of significance to our attention.

“Anyone with information is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference 3489 of August 20 2023. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.”
