Parts of the A9 have been closed following reports of a vehicle fire on the road.
The northbound carriageway from Bankfoot has been shut off since 6pm.
Emergency services have arrived at the scene to deal with the incident.
Drivers are urged to approach the area with care and use alternative routes if possible.
Traffic Scotland said: “The A9 northbound is closed prior to Bankfoot due to a vehicle fire.
“Motorists are advised to use an alternative route at this time and allow extra time for their journey.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.30pm on Friday we were called to a report of a vehicle fire on the A9 northbound between Bankfoot and Birnam.
“There were no reports of injuries.
“Emergency services are at the scene and the road is closed northbound.”
