Emergency services were called to the scene near Tealing at around 4.50pm after reports of a collision.
Officers initially closed the northbound carriageway, and the southbound carriageway was restricted. The A90 has now been shut in both directions.
Road users have been urged to avoid the area.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The A90 is closed northbound and restricted southbound near Tealing due to a three-vehicle crash reported to police around 4.50pm on Thursday, 15 May, 2025.
“Motorists are advised to avoid the area.”
Traffic Scotland added: “CLOSED in both directions due to collision investigation works.
“Emergency services remain at scene.”
