The Aberdeen Christmas Village has re-opened its gates after last year’s cancellation.
Organisers Codona’s and Aberdeen Inspired say there’s something to enjoy for the whole family.
This year’s festive spectacle includes the popular outdoor ice rink, local Christmas Market, and a festive fairground.
Marie Boulton, events spokesperson for Aberdeen City Council, said: “The city is obviously buzzing.
“We’ve got the flashing lights, but I think people are just so delighted to be able to come out and have Christmas once again.
“We’ve got the Christmas village here and in the quad we’re going to have the markets at weekend, full of local crafters.
“We’ve got a market in the art gallery.
“We’ve got the Christmas tree being switched on. It’s all happening in Aberdeen.
“We’ve all been through a really tough couple of years. This is our Christmas. It’s come back.
“Let’s all enjoy it. Keep safe and let’s celebrate.”
Adrian Watson, CEO of Aberdeen Inspired, said: “We’ve had a very difficult 20 months or so, but you know, Aberdeen Christmas Village is taking all the necessary precautions, that you would expect, and we’d hope that folk would make that venture into the town to support not only the Christmas village itself, but local businesses as well.
“Hopefully people have a great experience, on the main drag and broad street, and also within the quad, where we have a wonderful market with so many local producers.”
