A road has been closed in Aberdeen after a car was crushed by a lamppost following a collision.
Police Scotland confirmed Hutcheon Street has been closed at its junction with Berryden Road and at the junction of George Street.
Traffic is also unable to access the area from Anne Street. An image circulating on social media appears to show a white car which has crashed into a lamppost, knocking it over.
The lamppost has fallen on to a nearby black car, crushing its roof. Fire crews can be seen trying to remove the lamppost from the vehicle.
Road users have been urged to avoid the area.
It is not known if there were any injuries.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 12.57pm on Tuesday, 17 March, to reports of a traffic collision involving two cars on Hutcheon Street, Aberdeen.
“Operations Control mobilised four fire appliances and a specialty vehicle to assist emergency service partners at the scene.
“Crews remain in attendance.”
