A road in Aberdeen has been reopened more than 24 hours after a house fire broke out, which left two people injured.

Emergency services were called to Summerfield Terrace at around 9.07am on Tuesday following reports of a dwelling fire.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service dispatched six engines and speciality vehicles in an effort to extinguish the blaze.

Four ambulances and a critical care team also attended the scene. Two people, aged 37 and 47, were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary following the incident.

Another individual was treated at the scene.

Videos on social media show flames bursting from the roof and smoke billowing over the city.

A number of neighbouring properties were evacuated as fire crews attempted to calm the flames.

An investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
