Alleged stabbing leaves two in hospital as man charged

Two men are in hospital and another is due in court after alleged stabbings in Brechin on Saturday.

Emergency services were called to a report of a disturbance on Wards Road at around 4.35pm on October 21.

A 27-year-old man and a 24-year-old man were rushed to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

A 40-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with serious assault and will appear at Forfar Sheriff Court on Monday, October 23.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.35pm on Saturday, October 21, 2023, officers were called to a report of a disturbance in the area of Wards Road, Brechin.

“Emergency services attended and a 27-year-old man and a 24-year-old man were taken to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee.

“A 40-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with serious assault and will appear at Forfar Sheriff Court on Monday October 23 2023.

“Enquires are ongoing.”
