An Angus woman who was reported missing in the early hours of Thursday morning has been traced safe and well, police have confirmed.
Gillian Sturrock had been reported missing from Carnoustie around 5am after she was last seen in the Ravensby Road area.
An appeal from her family on Friday said that the 39-year-old’s disappearance was out of character as she would not normally be out of contact with them for that length of time.
On Friday evening police confirmed that following the appeal she had been traced.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We can confirm that 39-year-old Gillian Sturrock reported missing from Carnoustie has been traced safe and well.
“Thank you to everyone who shared our appeals.”
