Urgent search for woman with 'distinctive car' missing for three days

The 51-year-old is thought to be driving her blue Suzuki Ignis after vanishing from Tarves earlier in the week.

Appeal launched to trace missing Ruth Watt after disappearance from Aberdeenshire village Police Scotland

Concerns are growing over the welfare of a woman missing from Aberdeenshire since Tuesday afternoon.

Ruth Watt was last seen on Mackie Avenue near the village of Tarves in the region shortly after 4pm on June 21, but has failed to make contact with friends or family since.

The 51-year-old may be driving her “distinctive” blue Suzuki Ignis, which carries the registration plate SV22 WSL.

An appeal has now been launched to locate her.

Ruth is described as being around 5’8″ in height with long red or auburn hair and was said to be wearing a black jumper and blue jeans.

Sergeant Stuart Gordon said: “Enquiries are ongoing to trace Ruth and I am appealing for the help of the public. 

“I am appealing for anyone who may have seen Ruth, her vehicle which is quite distinctive, or who has any information on her whereabouts to contact us. 

“Ruth has links to the Tarves, Ellon and Huntley areas of Aberdeenshire.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 2838 of June 22.
