Armed police called to street after report of 'man with firearm'

Armed police were called to a Dundee street following a report of a man with a possible gun.

Officers received a report of the sighting on High Street in the Lochee area around 9.10am on Tuesday morning.

Firearms officers attended the scene but have since been stood down.

Police remain in attendance, and investigations are ongoing to trace the man.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.10am on Tuesday, December 16, we received a report of a man with a possible firearm on High Street in the Lochee area of Dundee.

“Officers are in attendance in the area, and enquiries are ongoing to trace the man.”
