A Perthshire primary school has been closed for the day after a fire broke out on Wednesday morning.
Fire crews were called to Balbeggie Primary School on Main Street, Balbeggie, at around 7.16am on April 19.
Three appliances were dispatched to the scene, and firefighters extinguished the blaze and made the area safe before leaving.
School had not yet started for the day, and no injuries were reported.
In a statement, Perth and Kinross Council announced the school would close for the day while the building was assessed for damages.
It read: “We are currently assessing the building and hope to re-open on Thursday. We will provide more information when it’s available.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 7.16am on Wednesday, April 19 to reports of a fire within a school in Balbeggie, Perth and Kinross.
“Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances to the town’s Main Street, where firefighters extinguished the fire and worked to make the area safe before leaving the scene.
“There were no casualties.”
