A fire at an Aberdeen beauty spot was started deliberately, police have confirmed.
Emergency crews were alerted to the blaze at Kincorth Hill nature reserve shortly before 9am on Wednesday.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) mobilised two engines and a forestry unit.
Smoke from the blaze could be seen billowing into the sky.
The flames were eventually brought under control, and no one was injured.
Following an examination of the area, the fire is now being treated as deliberate.
Sergeant Kevin Souter said: “Deliberately starting a fire is extremely reckless – you only have limited control over how it may develop.”
He issued an appeal for information and urged anyone in the area who saw anything suspicious to contact 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
