A body has been recovered from a burn in Dundee.

The body was discovered in the Dighty Burn in the Fintry area of the city and removed at around 9.15am on Tuesday.

Emergency services were called to the scene and the area was cordoned off.

Police Scotland said enquiries were under way to establish the identity of the person.

A spokesperson said:  “About 0915 this morning, a body was recovered from the Dighty Burn in the Fintry area of Dundee.

“Emergency services are in attendance.

“Enquiries are ongoing to confirm circumstances and ID.”

Police said there was no indication yet of any suspicious circumstances.
