Police ScotlandA body has been found in the search for an elderly man with dementia reported missing from his home three days ago.
John Wils was last seen by his family at home in Kilconquhar around 12.35pm on Tuesday.
The 82-year-old was then seen walking south along the B941 at around 2.55pm. He was later seen on a path near Kilconquhar Loch walking southbound.
Police have now confirmed that the body of a man was found in an area near Kilconquhar around 5pm on Friday.
He has been identified as John Wils, and his family is aware.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.
