A body has been found in the search for a missing fell runner in Perthshire.
Fell runner Chris Smith, originally from Aberdeenshire, was last seen in the Glenlyon area at around 3pm on Tuesday.
A major search for the former Team GB athlete had been taking place with the help of the mountain rescue team and coastguard helicopter.
Police have now confirmed that a body has been found near to Meall Garbh in the Glenlyon area.
The discovery was made at around 11.50am on Thursday.
Formal identification has yet to take place however the 43-year-old’s family have been informed.
A police spokesman confirmed the incident and said: “Enquiries remain ongoing and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
