The body of a woman has been found in the hunt for a missing woman in Aberdeenshire.
At around 10am on Saturday, the body of a woman was found in a secluded area near the village of Tarves by officers searching for 51-year-old Ruth Watt.
Ms Watt was last seen on Mackie Avenue nearby shortly after 4pm on June 21.
She was believed to have been driving her “distinctive” blue Suzuki Ignis.
Police Scotland said that formal identification is yet to take place but her family has been informed.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal. the force said.
