Body of man, 65, recovered at waterfall after reports of person having fallen 

The body of a 65-year-old man was recovered on Wednesday afternoon.

The body of a man has been recovered after a rescue operation at a waterfall in Angus.

Emergency services were called to the Reekie Linn Waterfall near Kilry around 11.52am on Wednesday after reports of a person having fallen in.

Two fire engines and a number of specialist resources were sent to the scene.

The body of a 65-year-old man was discovered during the search.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.55am on Wednesday, August 6, we received a report of person having fallen at the Reekie Linn waterfall near Kilry.

“Emergency services attended, and the body of a 65-year-old man was recovered.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious, and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”

Images taken at the scene showed the road blocked by police and emergency services.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 11.52am on Wednesday, August 6 to attend Reekie Linn Waterfall near Kilry.

“Operations Control mobilised two appliances and several specialist resources to the scene to assist emergency service partners.”
