An investigation has been launched after a pensioner was duped into handing money over to a bogus workman.
The conman targeted the elderly man in Perth’s Tweedsmuir Road last week.
As well as tricking the victim into parting with £150 for roof work that was never carried out, the suspect also stole a small money tin from the pensioner’s living room.
Police described the suspect as stocky, in his mid-30s, and around 5ft 5in.
He was wearing a black jacket with grey flashes on the upper arms, black dress trousers and black shoes. He also spoke with a local accent.
A force spokesperson said: “CCTV enquiries have shown that the suspect did not appear to attend at any other doors in the immediate vicinity, however we would like to hear from anyone who may have had this person turn up at their door uninvited.”
