Google MapsA community larder in Dundee was forced to turn away patrons after a reported break in.
Boomerang, situated in the Stobswell area, was broken into between Thursday evening and Friday morning.
As a result, organisers were forced to shut down its food larder, which supports members of the local community with free and reduced price food, drink and sanitary items.
The charity also hosts youth clubs, health and wellbeing programmes and a toddler group to support the local community.
Boomerang later confirmed that a window smashed during the break in had since been fixed and the lifeline facility would reopen to the community on Monday.
In a post on Facebook, Boomerang said: “We felt terrible having to turn people away [on Friday].
“Thanks for offer of donations, we are always delighted to receive any kind of donations and these can be handed into the centre during our usual opening hours.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.10am on Friday, July 21, 2023 we were made aware of a break-in at a premises on Kemback Street, Dundee.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.”
