A motorcyclist who died in a crash on the A9 involving a car and two motorbikes has been named.

Andrew MacPherson from Cambridgeshire was the driver of one of two Harley Davidson motorcycles involved in the incident.

The 63-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passengers of the Hyundai car were taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

Die Huang appeared in court on Tuesday charged with causing the death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

The 50-year-old woman from Guangdong Province in China made no plea and was remanded in custody.

She is due to appear before court again within the next eight days.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash which unfolded three miles north of the B847, near Calvine, around 1.30pm on Sunday.

Sergeant Willie Strachan from Road Policing said: “Our thoughts very much remain with the family and friends of Mr MacPherson at this difficult time.

“Our enquiries remain ongoing, and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash or who may have dash-cam footage and who hasn’t already spoken to officers to get in touch.”
