A car crashed “on its side” and a double-decker bus came off the carriageway in two collisions on the same stretch of a major road in Aberdeenshire.
Emergency services were called to the scene of both crashes on the A90 near the A952 in Ellon at around 6.55am on Friday.
Eyewitnesses reported that a car had ended up “on its side” and a double-decker bus came off the road into a field.
The driver of the car was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by ambulance – their condition is unknown.
No one on the bus was injured as a result of the incident.
STV News understand the two crashes were unrelated.
Officers remained at the scene as of 10am on Friday and one lane of the road has been closed as a result.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police were called to a report of two separate crashes, one involving a car and one involving a bus, on the A90 near the A952, Toll of Birness, Ellon, around 6.55am on Friday, August 19.
“The driver of the car has been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by ambulance. No one on the bus was injured.
“Officers are at the scene and one lane of the road remains open.”
