A rescue mission was launched after a kitesurfer got into difficulty off the coast of Arbroath.
The coastguard confirmed it received a call from a concerned member of the public at around 1pm on Tuesday.
The Arbroath lifeboat joined the Coastguard in responding to the incident.
The Coastguard confirmed that the kitesurfer was able to “self-recover” and was given a first aid check.
The water sports enthusiast had reported an equipment fault as the reason for their difficulty but was otherwise safe and well, STV News understands.
