Concern is growing for a missing 96-year-old man in Blairgowrie who left home in his pyjamas and without his hearing aids.

Harold Heeley was last seen around 5.55am on Tuesday in the Bankhead area of the town.

He left home without appropriate clothing for the weather and did not bring his hearing aid.

Nearby residents have been urged to check shelters and outbuildings in case he has tried to seek shelter.

Mr Heeley is described as around 5ft 8ins, of slim build with white hair. He was wearing a navy blue dressing gown, light blue pyjamas and dark blue slippers.

Sergeant James Longden said: “Harold has left his home without the clothing he needs to be away for any length of time and concerns are growing for his welfare. He has left his hearing aids behind so may not hear what is going on around him.

“I am urging anyone who has seen Harold or knows where he might be to get in touch with us immediately.

“If you are out and about please keep an eye out for Harold. I am also asking people to check their sheds and outbuildings in case Harold has sought shelter.

“Anyone who can help should call police immediately on 101, quoting incident number 0544 of Tuesday, December 20.”
