A search is underway for an 84-year-old in Aberdeen who has been missing overnight.
Concern is growing for the welfare of Cyril Thomson who was last seen in the Hilton Court area of Mastrick at around 8.30pm on Saturday.
The pensioner has mobility issues and usually uses two walking sticks, but on this occasion he appears to left home without them.
Local police are now seeking the public’s assistance as they try to locate him.
He is described as being around 5ft7 with a thin build and short grey hair.
When last seen, he was wearing a black t-shirt and blue suit jacket, he may also be wearing a grey-coloured canvas hat and carrying a blue backpack.
And as he doesn’t have his walking sticks he will likely be walking slowly.
Officers leading the search say extensive enquiries are under way to locate Cyril and they are continuing to talk with family and friends for any additional information on where he may have gone.
Relevant CCTV is also being checked.
As well as the Mastrick area, Cyril has often visited the harbour, the Seaton area and Gordon Barracks.
Inspector Lisa Kerr said: “We are growing increasingly concerned for Cyril due to his age and his mobility challenges.
“His family is understandably upset and just want him home safe and well. I am appealing to the public for any information. If anyone has seen him or has any information as to where he could be, please get in touch with us.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1570 of 10 September, 2023.
