Crash and vehicle fire closes major road in both directions

A crash and a vehicle fire in Moray has closed the A96 in both directions.

Traffic Scotland confirmed that the A96 near Keith was shut down after a two vehicle collision and subsequent fire at around 3pm on Saturday.

Emergency services are currently on the scene.

Drivers have been advised to use alternative routes at this time.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The A96 is closed south of Keith following a two vehicle crash near the junction with the B9115 that was reported around 2.50pm on Saturday, 6 July.

“Road users are advised to avoid the area.”

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have been contacted for comment.
