A dad who died in a crash after driving on the wrong side of the M90 has been named.
During a police patrol on Friday, an officer in a marked car witnessed a Ford Kuga travelling towards them in the wrong direction on the roundabout near Junction 6 Kinross at around 10.30pm.
The car continued onto the southbound carriageway of the motorway, travelling north.
The police car activated its blue lights and drove onto the northbound carriageway. The officer then came across a head-on collision involving the Kuga and a Vauxhall Corsa.
FacebookThe 44-year-old male driver of the Kuga has been named locally as John Lawson from Dundee.
Both he and the 20-year-old male driver of the Corsa sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
Mr Lawson’s ex-partner, and mother to four of his children, Charlene Harper paid tribute to the father and grandfather.
She added: “I’m deeply sorry and send my condolences to the other family involved, who have tragically lost their son.”
Police Scotland confirmed that the circumstances of the incident have been submitted to the Police Investigation & Review Commissioner (PIRC) for consideration.
An investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
