A popular theme park in Aberdeenshire has been forced to close for good as a result of “significant damage” caused by Storm Arwen.
Go Ape Aberdeen revealed on Friday that the doors of its adventure course at Crathes Castle will remain closed permanently.
Storm Arwen left its mark on the area at the end of last year when it tore through Scotland in November.
Since opening in 2011 Go Ape Aberdeen has attracted more than 75,000 into the trees surrounding the 16th century in Banchory.
And confirming the news on their social media the company said it was “an adventure we will fondly remember”.
A statement on the Go Ape Aberdeen Facebook page said: “The adventure is over. Sad news.
“Our forest doors at Crathes Castle, Aberdeen have closed for good. Storm Arwen left her mark in November ’21 and our course received significant damage.
“Since opening Go Ape Aberdeen in 2011, we’ve welcomed over 75,000 of you into the trees. It’s been an adventure and one we’ll fondly remember.”
Scottish Go Ape sites at Aberfoyle (Trossachs), Glentress Forest, Peebles (The Borders) and Dalkeith Edinburgh remain open to visitors.
