The family of a six-year-old girl who died suddenly last year is campaigning for schools across the country to install defibrillators to help save lives.
Kacey Seivwright passed away in August. Since then her family has raised more than £70,000 to buy the life-saving equipment for every school in Aberdeen.
Her dad, Raymond Seivwright, said: “Initially we just wanted one in our school, but it was so successful we now have them across all the schools in Aberdeen, both primary and secondary.
“To be able to cover the whole of Aberdeen city in just under five months is brilliant.”
Family handoutThe family has also ensured that other places like local pubs have one on their premises.
Now, they hope people will continue to donate towards the cause so all schools and public places across Scotland can have a defibrillator on site.
Mr Seivwright said: “I think all places should have one because these do save lives.”
Kacey’s parents hope their fundraising efforts will act as a legacy to help other families across the country.
Her dad added: “We want to help as much people as possible. It’s all for Kacey, it’s in her memory.
“We’ll always have our memories, but it won’t be the same for us. We just want to make sure no one else has to go through this.”
