Detectives are following a “positive line of enquiry” after a person was found dead within a home in Aberdeen.

Emergency services were called to the property on Bedford Road at around 7.30pm on Sunday after reports of a person being found injured.

They were pronounced dead at the scene, and the death is being treated as unexplained.

Officers remain in the area as the investigation into the circumstances continues.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.30pm on Sunday, January 4, 2026, we received a report of a person being found injured at a property in Bedford Road, Aberdeen.

“Emergency services attended, and a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The death is being treated as unexplained, and officers are following a positive line of enquiry.

“Officers will remain in the area while investigations are carried out. Anyone with information or concerns can call 101, quoting incident 2579 of Sunday, January 4 or approach local officers.”
