Police are searching for a driver after a dog was killed in a hit and run on the A90.

Emergency services were called to the Northbound carriageway of the Dundee to Aberdeen Road between South Tarbrax and Gallowfauld at about 6.40pm on Wednesday after a springer spaniel was struck by a car.

The dog died at the scene.

Officers have established that the car involved sustained damage to it’s front bumper after debris was found.

PC Fullerton from Forfar Police Office said “We would appeal to anyone who has information to contact us on 101 quoting crime reference CR/0100928/24.

“Due to debris found at the scene it is likely the vehicle will have sustained damage to the front bumper.

“We would like to thank the two drivers who came across the dog and stopped to care for him following the collision.”
