A dog had to be rescued from a Munro in Angus after suffering from heat exhaustion as a heatwave swept across the country.
Tayside Mountain Rescue were called to Mount Keen on Wednesday afternoon to help the Italian Spinone and his owner.
The dog had become unwell amid sweltering conditions, with the owner unable to move him.
Rescuers were able to get the dog and his owner down the mountain to shade and safety.
A spokesperson for Tayside Mountain Rescue said: “With temperatures on the rise, don’t underestimate the impact that hot weather can have on you or your furry friend when exerting yourself in the hills.
“If you are planning a day in the hills, consider starting early, carry plenty of water, take regular breaks in the shade where possible and be prepared to turn back if the heat becomes too much.”
