Three sheep were killed after a driver reportedly entered their field and mowed them down.

The incident on farmland outside Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, happened on the night of Friday, October 1.

A public appeal on a local social media page said those involved opened the gate to the field in Blackhills before driving in and chasing sheep with a car.

The vehicle is said to have hit three sheep, killing them.

Police are investigating and said enquiries were ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officer in Peterhead are investigating following a report of three sheep having been killed by a motor vehicle near Blackhills overnight on Friday, October 1.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
