A man arrested over a crash in Perthshire that killed a teenager has been released from custody.
Emergency services were called to a crash involving a blue Ford Fiesta on the B9099 Luncarty to Stanley road, near the junction leading to Gowrie Farm, at around 2.50am on Sunday.
The front seat passenger, a 19-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, a 21-one-year-old man, and a rear passenger, a 19-year-old woman, were taken to Ninewells Hospital with serious injuries.
Police confirmed the driver was arrested in connection with road traffic offences but has since been released as enquiries continue.
The road was closed for accident investigation work and reopened around 1.15pm.
The force is urging anyone with information regarding the crash to come forward.
Sergeant Steve Livesey said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died and those who have been injured.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and anyone who can assist is asked to get in touch.
“If you were driving near the area at the time and have dash-cam that could assist then please make contact with officers.
“Anyone who can help is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0617 of Sunday, September 1, 2024.”
