A Dundee carer has been banned from the profession after sexually assaulting a colleague.
Enique Kebiru Abu-Yakubu was working as a care and support worker when he pulled a colleague back into a car when she tried to get out in March last year.
He was found to have slapped the woman’s bottom without her consent, moved his hands up her legs and touched her intimate areas.
The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) heard that the woman pushed Abu-Yakubu away and told him she did not want him to touch her.
The care regulator said Abu-Yakubu’s actions caused the woman to become “distressed”.
His behaviour was found to be sexually motivated.
The panel said that Abu-Yakubu had not shown any insight into his behaviour and ruled that he should be struck off from the care register.
“Even if [Abu-Yakubu] were to work solely with male colleagues, this does not address the concern that [he] would be working with vulnerable adults of either gender,” the removal order said.
“There is little evidence that you acknowledge your failings and lack of insight raises the probability that the behaviour is likely to be repeated”
