Adobe StockA social care student who worked in Dundee has been struck off the register after he was convicted of rape.
Kieran Dalton was found guilty at Edinburgh High Court on February 21 of abusive behaviour and rape.
The Social Services Council listed several factors behind its decision, including Dalton’s “analogous behaviour spanning several years,” which brought to light “underlying attitudinal issues”.
The SSSC report read: “The behaviours for which you have been convicted are at the highest end of the scale in terms of seriousness.
“The behaviours suggest that you hold deep seated attitudinal and values issues which are likely to members of the public at risk of harm.
“The public have the right to expect social service workers, in whom they place their trust and
confidence, to uphold the law and not engage in offending behaviour.”
