An elderly man has been charged with the historical murder of a scientist in Aberdeen.
Dr Brenda Page, then 32, was found dead at her flat in the city’s Allan Street in 1978.
Christopher Harrisson, 79, appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Wednesday, when he was charged with murder.
He was released on bail while further enquiries are carried out.
Detective inspector Gary Winter said: “A number of people have contacted police to provide information following our appeal yesterday.
“I would like to thank them for their assistance, along with all those who have helped with the investigation so far.
“I continue to urge anyone who believes they may have information relevant to the enquiry and has not yet spoken to the police to get in touch as soon as possible.”
