An English man, wanted in connection with the death of a man down south, has been arrested in Aberdeenshire.
Peter Clifford, from Felixstowe, was charged with three offences, including gross negligence manslaughter, in October 2024 and was wanted after failing to appear at court.
The 62-year-old’s business, Hintonwood East Anglia Ltd, was issued with a further two charges.
The charges relate to the death of Dale Baker who died at an address in Woodbridge on December 15, 2020, whilst carrying out renovation work at a property.
The 30-year-old sustained serious injuries and died at the scene.
Clifford was summonsed to appear at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on November 15, but then failed to attend a subsequent hearing at Ipswich Crown Court on March 20, and was also absent at a further hearing on April 4.
The court issued a warrant for his arrest.
Following enquiries carried out by Suffolk Police, he was arrested at an address in Aberdeenshire on Wednesday morning.
Clifford is due to be collected by Suffolk officers from Police Scotland custody before appearing before the next available court.
