An excavator used for digging graves has been stolen from a cemetery in Aberdeenshire.
The black and yellow JCB Grave Master digger was taken from Kirkton cemetery in Fraserburgh between 4pm on August 15 and 9am on August 18.
Police are urging anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area to come forward.
Residents with private CCTV are also being asked to check their footage from the dates mentioned.
PC Jemma-Marie Keith, who is leading the investigation, said: “I would appeal to anyone witnessing any suspicious activity in the area to get in touch.
“If anyone has private CCTV in the vicinity and hasn’t already been spoken to, please review your footage and get in contact if anything relevant is captured.”
Aberdeenshire police are also investigating the theft five quad bikes from farms in the area.
The vehicles were taken from sheds along the A97, between Alford and Aberchirder, between August 15, and August 17.
Officers believe a grey Ford Ranger pick-up was used to tow them away on a trailer and have asked for any witnesses to come forward.
Police say the thefts have “severely impacted” the farming community.
