The family of a woman who died after being struck by a van in Dundee have said they are “devastated”.
Christian Road, in the Broughty Ferry area, was closed for around six hours from 5.25pm on Saturday following reports of a collision.
Joan Gansh was struck by a silver Ford Transit van and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 85-year-old’s family described her death as “tragic”.
“The family of Joan Gansh are absolutely devastated at the sad loss of their mum, mum-in-law, gran, auntie, sister and sister in law in such a tragic way”, they said in a statement.
“Joan was the wife of the late Douglas Gansh and lived at Southampton Road, Dundee.”
Investigations into the crash are ongoing, and officers are continuing to appeal for information from those in the area at the time.
Sergeant David Farr, of Road Policing East, said: “Our thoughts remain with Joan’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time.
“I would appeal again to anyone who witnessed the crash and has yet to give a statement to officers to please come forward.
“We know that the road was very busy at the time and would ask that anyone who saw Joan or the van prior to the crash get in touch with us with any information.
“Additionally, I’d ask those with dash-cam footage or private CCTV to please review this to see if it has captured anything that can assist with our investigation.”
Those with information are asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2579 of December 13, 2025.
