A fire which engulfed an electrical waste recycling plant in Perth has been extinguished.
Crews were called to Shore Recycling in the Friarton Industrial Estate at around 4.30am on Sunday.
Plumes of smoke could be seen billowing across the city as emergency services tackled the blaze.
Police were in attendance with Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS), however no injuries were reported.
Firefighters said the blaze had been extinguished early on Monday morning.
Smoke in the area has dissipated and transport routes have reopened, with no expected no disruption to local schools.
SFRS and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) will monitor the situation and have asked locals to avoid the area if possible.
While further flare ups of the smoke are unlikely, residents in areas affected by the smoke have also been told to stay indoors and keep their doors and windows closed.
If travelling through smoke, motorists should keep windows closed, turn off air conditioning and keep their air vents closed.
Group commander, Mike Youngson, who managed the incident, said: “This was a significant incident at its height with six appliances and crews on site to tackle the blaze.
“Working with partners at SEPA, Perth and Kinross Police, Public Health Scotland and Perth and Kinross Council, we’ve managed the situation to minimise the disruption to the local community and to keep local people informed.
“We would like to thank the public for their understanding and co-operation.”
