Fire crews called to building fire in Aberdeen as residents urged to keep windows closed

Emergency services have been called to a building fire in Aberdeen.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) were alerted following reports of a building fire on Park Road in Aberdeen at just before 6pm on Monday, August 17.

A spokesperson confirmed four appliances have been dispatched to the scene along with a height vehicle.

SFRS have since confirmed the fire has been extinguished, but crews remain on scene.

Videos on social media show billowing smoke coming from the building, spreading across nearby homes.

The building is already fenced off, as STV News understands it had already been damaged from a previous fire and was empty.

A police spokesperson said: “Road closures are in place on Park Road, Roslin Street, Roslin Place and Constitution Street, Aberdeen due to a fire, reported at around 6pm on Monday, August 17.

“Residents are advised to keep windows and doors closed. Please avoid the area.”
