Firefighters tackle farm blaze after hay barn goes up in flames

Fire crews were called to Myreside Farm in Angus on Thursday evening after the blaze took hold of the building.

Firefighters have tackled a blaze at an Angus farm after a barn full of hay bales went up in flames.

Four appliances rushed to the scene after flames engulfed the barn at Myreside Farm in Inverkeilor.

The incident occurred around 5.48pm at the barn, which is used to hold hay bales and agricultural equipment.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said no one was injured in the incident but they remain at the scene.

A spokesperson for the SFRS said: “We were alerted at 5.48pm on Thursday, October 27 to reports of a fire well alight at a farm in Angus.

“Operations Control mobilised four fire appliances to the scene.

“Crews remain in attendance. There are no reported casualties.”

Police officers also attended the blaze to assist the SFRS.
