PA MediaFire crews remain at the scene of a wildfire that broke out in Aberdeenshire on Wednesday morning.
At its peak, nine fire appliances were sent to the blaze in the Suie Road area, near Alford, and a helicopter was used to dump water on the flames.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said it was alerted to the blaze at 11.36am.
On Thursday afternoon, SFRS confirmed three appliances and a water carrier remained at the scene.
On Wednesday, people were being asked to avoid the area and those living nearby were advised to keep doors and windows closed.
A SFRS statement issued on Wednesday read: “Operations control has mobilised nine appliances to the Suie Road area, where firefighters remain working to extinguish the fire.
“People living within the local area are asked to keep windows and doors closed for the time being.
“Please also avoid the area as far as possible.”
