Firefighters are battling a blaze at an abandoned paper mill in Aberdeen, two years after the site closed after falling into administration.
Scottish Fire and Rescue services were called to the abandoned Stoneywood Mill in Bucksburn around 9am on Monday.
Eight fire engines and a height appliance was dispatched to the scene, and crews remain on site as of 11.41am.
Scottish Ambulance Service dispatched two special operation teams to the scene.
The building has been disused since the mill went into administration in September 2022 after borrowing around £12m of public money to save the business.
Images from the scene showed thick black smoke billowing out across the surrounding area.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 8.53am on Monday, August 12, to reports of a building fire on Stoneywood Terrace in Aberdeen.
“Operations Control mobilised eight fire engines and a height appliance to the scene.
“There are no casualties, and crews remain in attendance.”
