Firefighters remain at the scene of a wildfire that broke out on Wednesday morning.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) sent crews to the scene near Alford in Aberdeenshire when the alarm was raised at 11.36am.
At its height nine fire appliances were dealing with the incident and a helicopter was used to drop water onto the flames.
Shortly after 10.30pm, SFRS confirmed the blaze was largely extinguished and fire crews were leaving the scene in the Suie Road area, but that two appliances remained “as a precaution” and by 6.30am on Thursday this had been reduced to one fire engine on a watching brief.
There were no reports of injuries.
