Firefighters tackled a blaze involving a pile of scrap metal at the Port of Rosyth.

Fire crews were alerted around 3am to a blaze at an engineer workshop affecting a pile of scrap on Murray Road at the dockyards.

At the height of the fire, crews battled the blaze from four pumps and one high-reach appliance.

A water tower was being used to douse parts of scrap metal that remained alight, with machinery used to break up the pile.

Firefighters extinguished the fire in a pile of scrap metal and left the scene just after 7.30am.

There were no reports of any injuries.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 3.01am on Thursday, April 9, to reports of fire within a pile of scrap at an engineer workshop on Murray Road, Rosyth Dockyards.

“Operations Control mobilised four appliances and a high-reach appliance to the scene.

“Crews are currently using a main jet, a hose reel jet, and a high-reach appliance with a water tower.”
